The Greenbelt Dance Studio's Dance Performance Club presents an imaginative telling of the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale. Enjoy ballet, jazz, contemporary, ballroom and tap performances by dancers ages 6 to adult. Tickets are now available at the Greenbelt Community Center Business office: 301-397-2208 ($5).

Shop for beautiful and functional, locally-produced wares at Greenbelt's annual juried Art and Craft Fair! Greenbelt Recreation is pursuing the commission of new public art in conjunction with the upcoming renovation of the Braden Athletic Complex located behind the Greenbelt Youth Center.

Public Art at Motiva

See a new sculpture installed at the entrance to the Motiva apartment community at 6420 Cherrywood Lane! This piece was designed by Erwin Timmers of the Washington Glass Studio and created with the participation of about 30 community members. The sculpture was commissioned by Greenbelt Apartments, LLC (owner of Motiva), working in partnership with the Greenbelt Recreation Arts Program. Read more.

Open Studio Hours for Art Students

Students currently enrolled in select Ceramics and Visual art classes are encouraged to take advantage of open studio hours between classes.

Artward Bound: In-Person and Online Workshops for Scouts and Other Youth

Outdoor art, comic book art, painting, drawing, collage, music and dance! Programs are tailored to badge requirements for Girl Scouts (all levels), but Cub Scouts, BSA Scouts, Camp Fire and simply groups of friends are also welcome! More information.

The Greenbelt Museum

The Greenbelt Museum provides a gateway to the rich history and living legacy of Greenbelt, Maryland, an experimental cooperative community created in 1937 by Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal administration. The Museum offers tours of an original historic home, exhibits, public programs, educational programs for children, and walking tours of the historic town to visitors and the community. The Museum also sponsors a lecture series that is free and open to all.

Greenbelt Cinema

Greenbelt Cinema presents contemporary films in addition to offering a schedule of diverse and community-based film programming, with digital projection and 35mm reel-to-reel capabilities. The theatre encompasses both a large auditorium and a new media lab and screening room. Owned by the City of Greenbelt and operated by Friends of Greenbelt Theatre (FGT), this facility is the only non-profit cinema operating in Prince George's County, Maryland.
