Do you want a safe community? Your voice matters!

Join us Thursday, July 22 at 7PM on Zoom for a Community Webinar:

What does Public Safety mean to you?

Here in Greenbelt, like around the country, there is a debate taking place around public safety and how best to keep all residents of our community safe.  Safety and security are fundamental human needs.  There is a lot of evidence showing that staying safe varies by neighborhood, class, race and ethnicity.

You are invited to join us - Connecting Across Greenbelt (CAG) and the Greenbelt Racial Equity Alliance (GREA) - on Thursday July 22 at 7pm on Zoom (see below for Zoom link or phone-in information) to hear what people like you and your neighbors think about public safety. This is not a forum on police reform; it is a forum on public safety.

CAG has invited a group of Greenbelt residents from different neighborhoods and life experiences to share their thoughts and experiences around public safety in Greenbelt and to discuss what public safety means to them in response to the following questions.

1.    What makes you feel unsafe in your neighborhood?

2.    What makes you feel safe in your neighborhood?

3.    What is missing in relation to public safety?

Please plan to attend and hear what our panelists - people from your neighborhood - have to say about public safety. Come and help us learn what a safe Greenbelt means to everyone who lives here.
