All business owners or operators who wish to display outdoor advertising of any kind in Greenbelt must first obtain a sign permit from Prince George's County DPIE and subsequently a City of Greenbelt Sign Permit. All signage projects that require a County permit also require a City permit.

For signage requirements, please refer to the Prince George's County Sign Ordinance and, depending on your location, consult the Greenbelt Metro Area / 193 Corridor Sector Plan. Contact the City's Planning Department by calling (301) 345-5417 to determine if your property is subject to additional Ctiy sign regulations.

Sign Permit applications are available at the Department of Planning and Community Development. Complete applications should be submitted with a copy of the approved County permit and one copy of the approved County plans. Please refer to the Schedule of Fees, Bonds, and Fines to determine the application fee.
