The City of Greenbelt’s Economic Development Office is focused on fostering a vibrant, local business community that is committed to helping businesses grow and succeed. This is done, in part, by promoting Greenbelt’s quality of life, amenities and proximity to both Washington, DC and Baltimore. Our Economic Development staff is here to offer technical assistance and to support sustainable business growth and development; and to serve as your liaison to city, county, state and federal resources and organizations.

The City of Greenbelts Economic Development efforts are focused on five core areas:

• Creation of new businesses
• Promoting Entrepreneurship opportunities
• Redevelopment
• Expansion and creation of new jobs
• Workforce Development and training

The goal of each core area is to focus on generating new job opportunities for our residents, supporting existing businesses, both large and small, attracting new businesses, and encouraging entrepreneurship opportunities for start-up businesses. 

We realize that by addressing common business concerns we are creating an environment that will encourage a healthier and more prosperous future for both our existing businesses and our residents. We understand when businesses stay competitive they are more likely to remain and expand in the City of Greenbelt.
