Public Records

The Maryland Public Information Act enables people to have access to government records without unnecessary cost or delay. The City of Greenbelt is committed to transparency in government.

The City of Greenbelt launches its NEW web portal to request documents. Leading the way in bringing efficiency, transparency, and openness to local government with ease, the City of Greenbelt has launched an online portal to respond to public records requests more efficiently and accessible to past requests. Available at https://cityofgreenbeltmd.nextrequest.com/ and powered by NextRequest, the portal allows the public to easily make public records requests online and search through past requests and responsive documents.

This web portal will help you communicate with the City about what documents you need. All previous requests and responsive documents are viewable here online. You may even find what you're looking for without having to submit a new request!

There are occasions when fees may be charged to produce documents under the MPIA. (See Fee Schedule here)

If you have any questions about the administration of the above guidelines, please do not hesitate to contact the City Clerk's Office at 301-474-3870.
