The Greenbelt Arts Center is both a Community Theater company, known for high-quality shows that showcase the experience and talent of our performers and crews who manange to fit their love of the performing arts into their busy lives, and a performance space for guest events and productions as scheduling permits.
GAC is a “black box” theater. The seats may be re-arranged for each production, allowing maximum flexibility for directors. The three-quarter thrust is our most common arrangement, with audience surrounding the stage on three sides. A proscenium stage is possible here too, with the audience facing the stage which is framed like a picture with an arch. GAC has also used an arena arrangement (with seats on all four sides and the stage in the center), a turning stage, and a cafe-style seating arrangement with patrons at tables while they watch the show.
The theater can hold 85-100 audience members depending on the seating style chosen for the show. All seating is General Admission. There are no assigned seats.
