The City of Greenbelt is committed to its children and their education. Through the Advisory Committee on Education, the city keeps abreast of educational issues and finds ways to recognize the accomplishments of outstanding students and educators. Greenbelt is proud to be the home of two nationally acclaimed "Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence," Greenbelt Elementary and Eleanor Roosevelt High School. In addition, all of Greenbelt's schools continue to strive for excellence through innovative programs and dedicated staff.

The City of Greenbelt is served by the Prince George's County Public School System. There are also a few private programs available in the area.
