The next City-wide election will occur on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. You may vote at ANY polling location in the City, regardless of precinct.

Register to vote!
All City residents 16 and older who have lived in the incorporated limits of Greenbelt for more than 30 days by October 9, 2023, can vote in the upcoming election.
Most Greenbelt residents can register to vote in City elections using the Maryland State Voter Registration Form. You do not need to re-register for City elections if you are already a registered voter with the State of Maryland.
16- and 17-year-olds who will be eligible to vote in County, State, and Federal elections at age 18 should use the Maryland State Voter Registration Form. Maryland allows 16-year-olds to pre-register to vote using this form.

Important Dates - 2023 Election
Monday, August 21:
- First day to obtain papers and to file nomination petition
Tuesday, September 26:
- Last day to file nomination petition, 5 pm (September 25, Yom Kippur holiday)
- Date of drawing for place of ballot, 7:30 pm (September 25, Yom Kippur holiday)
Friday, September 29:
- First interim contributions & expenditures report, 12 pm (noon)
Friday, October 6:
- First day to send out a mail-in ballot*
Monday, October 9:
- Last day to register to vote, 4:30 pm - Upper Marlboro
Friday, October 27:
- Second interim contributions & expenditures report, 12 pm (noon)
Saturday November 4 & Sunday, November 5:
- Early Voting at Community Center, 10 am - 3 pm
- Early Voting in Greenbelt East (Shrom Hills Park Clubhouse), 10 am - 3 pm
- Early Voting in Greenbelt West (Springhill Lake Clubhouse), 10 am - 3 pm
Tuesday, November 7:
- Election, 7 am - 8 pm (consistent with state practice)
- Mail-in ballots must be received by 6 pm
Friday, November 10:
- Final contributions & expenditures report, 12 pm (noon), (Veteran's Day holiday)
Monday, November 13:
- Charter Meeting of New City Council/Swearing-In, 7:30 pm
* Any qualified voter may vote by mail in a City election. No explanation needed.
