  • Question: What do we plan to do with the data?
    • Answer: We intend on using this data to include community voices into decision making processes, especially those who have historically been left out of the conversation before.

    • Answer: The data collected from this impact assessment will help us align city structures to the root causes of current outcomes and work towards transformative change that reflects a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) perspective.

DEI Audit

A JEDI audit conducted for local government serves as a comprehensive assessment of the government's performance in fostering fairness and equality. Its purpose is to identify areas of success, pinpoint areas requiring improvement, and recognize challenges and opportunities. This audit holds significance as it lays the groundwork for strategic planning and subsequent action. Furthermore, it fosters improved collaboration between leaders and staff, ensuring a shared understanding of equitable practices. By synthesizing diverse forms of data, including anecdotal evidence and quantitative metrics, the audit provides actionable recommendations aimed at enhancing inclusivity and fairness for all stakeholders. We have embarked on a transformative journey in our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). The recent completion of phase one of the JEDI audit has provided invaluable insights into our internal strengths and areas for growth. Let us stand united in our commitment to upholding our values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Thank you for your unwavering dedication to our community. Together, we will continue to strive towards a brighter and more equitable future for all.

Diversity Button

Diversity can be explained as accepting and valuing the many ways in which individuals are similar and different. Diversity embraces how we are alike and different from one another in ways such as ethnicity, religion, sexuality, ability, nationality, age, socio-economic status, culture, and all that encompasses who you are.

Equity Button

Equity refers to ensuring everyone has the necessary support and resources to be successful. This is done by taking into account the fact that every person's circumstances are unique and eliminating any barriers that prevent access to resources.

 Inclusion Button

Inclusion is a deliberate and active process of making sure everyone has a sense of belonging. It requires a desire and commitment to put yourself in someone else's shoes to understand, accept, respect and support them.
