Whether it is a grand opening or anniversary, the City of Greenbelt wants to help you celebrate this significant milestone in your journey by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony. This opportunity is available to new and existing businesses, charities, and non-profits in the City of Greenbelt. Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are a great way to introduce and celebrate your business in the community.
Please provide us with a copy of your approved business license upon your request so we can verify that your business is compliant with all State, County, and City requirements. All taxes and fees must be current at the time of application.
Please Note: All anniversaries are celebrated in 10-year increments.
The City would provide the following services for eligible applicants:
1. Grand Opening/Anniversary Celebration Flyer emailed to the local community and featured in the business newsletter.
2. Advertisement published in the Greenbelt News Review, highlighting the Grand Opening or Anniversary Celebration and including a brief profile (written by the applicant that is subject to staff review).
3. Event published on the City of Greenbelt’s social media. This includes a posted photo of the event.
4. Grand Opening / Anniversary Ribbon Cutting Celebration.
5. Congratulatory letter from the Mayor of Greenbelt and City Council.
