Chadwick Boseman Film Festival

Join us this Juneteenth in commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans and celebrating African-American culture.

 

This year's celebration includes the Chadwick Boseman Film Festival; "Freedom and Poetry Monologue" with Renee Charlow; and an Awards Ceremony on Equal Justice Initiative Essay.
 
The Chadwick Boseman Film Festival will be held at the Old Greenbelt Theater located at 129 Centerway, Greenbelt, MD 20770 and will feature:

 

"42" on June 16 at 5:30 pm
"Da 5 Bloods" on June 18 at 8 pm
"Get On Up" on June 20 at 2:30 pm

 

This festival is FREE and sponsored by the Greenbelt Black History and Culture Committee, the Old Greenbelt Theatre, RUAK, Conquest Solutions, and the Law Offices of Johnine Clark.
 
The "Freedom Poetry and Monologue" with Renee Charlow will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 12 - 3 pm at Beltway Plaza Mall. Join us for a workshop with Renee Charlow, an art therapist and former assistant to the late Ntozake Shange. This workshop is hosted by The SPACE: Free Art for All.
 
An Awards Ceremony on Equal Justice Initiative Essays will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 2:30 - 3:30 pm at the Greenbelt Community Center Gymnasium. The Greenbelt Black History and Culture Committee, in collaboration with the Prince George's County Lynching Memorial Project, will sponsor an award ceremony for students who won the Equal Justice Initiative Essay and Art contest.
