Help is available if you or a loved one are experiencing depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, or dealing with another type of mental health or substance use concern. Connecting residents, especially our youth, to services and resources is the mission of a new event called the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) Mental Health Expo on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Bowie State University’s Gym (14000 Jericho Park Rd., Bowie, MD 20715).
In conjunction with the kick-off of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, this one-day event includes a variety of interactive activities and workshops to engage County youth ages 18 to 24 and their families in managing mental health or substance use issues, as well as connect them to community resources and support networks.
The expo will also feature individual health screenings and health demonstrations, live entertainment, open mic and dance contests, food, and more!
Residents may register for free here: https://thegoatexpo2023.eventbrite.com.
The expo is part of a partnership between the Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, the Prince George’s County Health Department and the Bowie State University Graduate Student Association. Hope to see you there!
