Old Greenbelt Theatre Celebrates 85th Anniversary with "A Night with the Stars" Event
Greenbelt, MD - September 15, 2023 – The Old Greenbelt Theatre, a cherished cultural landmark, is thrilled to announce its 85th Anniversary celebration, "A Night with the Stars," on Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The spotlight will be on OGT as we usher in an exciting new chapter for this historic community theater!
Old Greenbelt Theatre has captivated generations with classic films, beginning with its grand opening in 1938 as a cornerstone of historic Greenbelt, Maryland. OGT symbolizes the enduring spirit of this New Deal era planned community, where culture and togetherness thrive. As it reaches this remarkable milestone, the theater is not only celebrating its rich history but also unveiling an inspiring vision for its future.
Our "Night with the Stars" event will be a fitting tribute to the theater's enduring legacy. Attendees can look forward to:
● Specialty Film Screening: Enjoy a selection of celebrity home movies from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Archive with live narration and piano accompaniment.
● Sweet treats: All guests will receive a mini popcorn, Shirley Temple drink, and a post-event treat. Additional concessions will be available for purchase.
● Vision for the Future: The 85th Anniversary event will also mark the launch of the theater's exciting new vision! Attendees will be among the first to learn about the plan for OGT’s continued success and have an opportunity to purchase brand-new merchandise. Come photo-ready: we’ll have some great opportunities for you to shine!
