Prince George's County residents can bring up to 10 bike, car, and passenger truck or SUV tires, to be disposed of for free, without a bulky appointment, at two locations on Saturday, October 7, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

*Due to weather conditions from Hurricane Ophelia, the event scheduled on Saturday, September 23 in Accokeek Village has been postponed to Saturday, October 7.

No commercial vehicles are allowed, and commercial haulers or generators of scrap tires are not permitted.

Through the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), Maryland Environmental Service (MES) uses proceeds from the Maryland Scrap Tire Fund to clean up illegal tire dumps and create demonstration projects using recycled rubber, such as scrap tire playgrounds constructed for communities throughout Maryland.
