Community Tree Lighting with Santa

All ages welcome - FREE
A Greenbelt holiday tradition dating back to 1938!

Roosevelt Center will sparkle with lights as Greenbelters of all ages gather to welcome Santa, who arrives on a fire truck to light the community tree. A musical performance by the Greenbelt Concert Band Brass Choir will herald Santa’s grand entrance. Complimentary treats and hot chocolate will be provided by the Recreation Department.

Immediately following the tree lighting, the festivities continue in two locations! Enjoy either or both of these FREE activities:

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (1966) on the big screen at the Greenbelt Cinema, 129 Centerway in Roosevelt Center
  • "Deco the Halls", an exhibit of art deco and vintage holiday decorations at the Greenbelt Museum house. Gift shop also open. 10 A/B Crescent Road. 7:30pm-9:00pm. For more information, call 301-507-6582 or visit greenbeltmuseum.org
