Reports To: Supervisor, Aquatics Coordinators
Starting pay: $15.91/hr (Depends upon experience)
Description: Personal trainer must be energetic, dedicated and motivated individuals who enjoy working with clients one-on-one and in small groups, designing and
implementing individual workout plans.
Duties:
- Develop safe, professional, exciting and comprehensive personal training programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their workout program and remain motivated to attain their personal fitness goals
- Monitor and instruct clients during personal training sessions on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment
- Maintain a professional, positive attitude at all times when working with members
- Educate members on current health and fitness issues and trends
- Conduct fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening, Medical History, Lifestyle questionnaire, and goal setting to assess and recommend personal training programs
- Actively market and promote personal training to acquire new members and retain existing members
- Complete and maintain accurate and current client files
- Be an advocate for the facility at ALL times
- Dress professionally, according to the Greenbelt Aquatic & Fitness Center dress code standards
- Participate in all staff related meetings and other required activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current ACSM, ACE, NSCA, AFAA, NASM, NETA (accredited organizations) certification in personal training.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
- Experience in fitness testing, exercise program design, and teaching appropriate fitness programs to members of varying ages and fitness levels
- Minimum of 2 years in health and fitness field
- Two-year exercise science education, or related field, or minimum of 1 year experience
