Purpose
The purpose of the Board of Appeals is to hear and decide appeals filed relating to actions taken in the administration and enforcement of City Code, Chapter 4, which regulates property standards. Appeals will generally argue that the requirements of Chapter 4 have been improperly applied and/or that the appellant will suffer a hardship due to the strict application of the requirements.
Special Condition
The City Code requires that each member of the Board of Appeals file a financial disclosure statement (on a form provided by the City Clerk) at time of appointment. During each subsequent year of each board member’s term of appointment, the individual must submit an annual statement to the city clerk by April 30 for the preceding calendar year.
Compensation
Members receive some compensation for being on call for emergency meetings.
