Home MenuBecome an Election Judge
The Election Judge who operates the polling place is a very important part of the electoral process.
Precinct clerks and judges are required to remain at the polls throughout Election Day. In 2023, the regular City Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7. The polls are open from 7 am to 8 pm, but workers must arrive at 6 am to get books, cards, voting machines, and procedures set up, and they must stay until the count is completed in their precinct, usually by 9 pm.
There will be a required training session the evening before the election. An effort is made to assign workers to their home precinct, but that is not always possible. Mail-in ballots will be sent to workers who are not assigned to their home precinct.
