Latex/Water Based Paints
Dried latex paint can be disposed of through special trash collection. Residents are advised to remove tops from latex paint cans in a safe, well-ventilated area and allow the paint to dry. The paint can be mixed with shredded paper or kitty litter to speed the drying process. Dried latex/water based paint can be disposed through your regular trash. Latex and water based paints can also be dropped off by residents at the Brown Station Road Landfill in Upper Marlboro.
Oil Based Paints
Oil based paints must be disposed of as hazardous waste or recycled with Yuck Old Paint during Electronics Recycling events. Residents can drop off household hazardous waste free of charge every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Brown Station Road Landfill in Upper Marlboro from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
