Eligibility
This application is for use by groups who intend to donate all proceeds to a not-for-profit organization or public/non-profit partnership. The recipient organization does not need to have federal 501C3 status. Individuals and groups who wish to donate a portion of their proceeds to a non-profit organization should please utilize our professional artisan or writers/illustrators' application as best describes your status. The selection process is competitive and acceptance is not guaranteed.
Wares
Groups must offer something for sale in order to participate. This may include memberships as well as wares which reflect your organization's mission. Imported crafts are not permitted. Special permission may be granted in some cases for organizations to sell commercially-produced items. Edible goods may be sold as long as the exhibitor complies with applicable Maryland state health regulations. Corporate logos other than your own and imagery of licensed characters are prohibited; this ban includes commercially printed fabric with logo or character imagery. All wares must be described in this application.
Event Structure
Sparkle Mart will utilize multiple rooms on different floors at the Greenbelt Community Center located at 15 Crescent Road in Greenbelt, Maryland. Shopping hours are Saturday, 10am - 5pm and Sunday, 10am - 4pm. Vendors must participate on both days during all fair hours. Friday night load-in is available and encouraged. Saturday morning load-in is also available by prior arrangement; approved vendors must arrive between 8am and 8:30am.
Booth Size and Fee
There is no fee to apply. Fees will be due within two weeks upon acceptance to the show.
Booths are 5' deep with 6' frontage (or similar). The cost is $40.
Sales Tax
Maryland requires all exhibitors to have a tax number and collect sales tax. If you do not have a state tax identification number, the Maryland Comptroller’s office will contact you to provide a temporary number.
How to Apply
Use the form below to apply to the waitlist by December 5. Before completing the application, please review our photo and video guidelines which include a link for uploading files to Dropbox. Please upload up to 5 images which are representative of the products you plan to sell. (These will double as promotional photos). If available, please also upload a photo of your booth set up.
Selection Process
Non-profit exhibitors will be selected based on: local interest, cultural or artistic mission, quality of wares, quality of presentation, past comportment and compliance with fair guidelines, and the goal of a diverse array of products. The selection process for this show is competitive and acceptance is not guaranteed. Decisions of the Recreation Department regarding acceptance and booth assignments are not subject to appeal.
Cancellations
If you are unable to participate, please notify the Recreation Department as soon as possible. Booth fees are non-refundable, but early notification will help to ensure that your group is not excluded from future events.
Promotions
Once accepted to the show, vendors agree to help promote this event through their websites, blogs, social media accounts and email lists as applicable. The Arts Program will provide a digital invitation which you can share, and we will promote this show through our website, activity guide, social media accounts, email list, Greenbelt News Review, outdoor signage and press releases.
