The City of Greenbelt has installed two temporary speed bumps on Ridge Road between Westway and Southway. This pilot project will last until Nov. 15. 

Here are a few tips about the project:

• The pilot project was modeled after a similar program that is ongoing in New Carrolton.
• The bumps were placed at mid-block crosswalks with the intention of slowing cars near pedestrians.
• Once the bumps are removed, permanent solutions will be evaluated. If anything, permanent were installed, it would be a more gradual ‘speed hump’ or a raised crosswalk – not a bump.
